3rd MN 6 I group Somali Photo Exhibit: Tuesday on 11/12/13 5:00-9:00 PM Program features North Minneapolis artist: Rebecca Lawson
The work of Somali photographers and community activists Mohamed Barre, Anisa Hajimumin, Farhio Khalif and Hussein N. Castelli provides a visual exploration and documentation of Somali families in MN. Their photography also portrays the changing landscape of Minnesota. The event features renowned North Minneapolis artist/photographer Rebecca Lawson which her work portrays changes in North Minneapolis around 1900s while Mohamed Barre’s work represents current changes in Northeast Minneapolis.
Barre and other photographer’s photography will be on exhibition in the Community Room of Bottineau Commons at 1808 University Ave N. E. Minneapolis, MN 55418 on Tuesday – 11/12/13.
